Teleconverter with Sigma 150-600 C

Has anyone tried to use the older SIGMA 2X EX DG APO teleconverter with the 150-600 mm C lens? They say you need the new style. Just wondering what would happen. Thanks

My older Kenko 1.4x Teleplus Pro 300 seems to work just fine with the 150-600 C lens on D7200. Sigma_150-600_w_1.4X_0139.jpg
