Day One Hundred Seventeen

Rained all day. Thought I was going to have to make reservations for a room on the Ark. Much needed rain I might add.

Got home and found a bunch of new rose buds opening out front. I kind of like the little droplets of water inside this one.

Day One Hundred Eighteen

I should have stayed in bed today. On the way home from work, the car started running really badly. No clue what's wrong, but I did manage to nurse it home. My mechanic said he can get to it on Monday so I'll have it towed then. Since we only have one car, (weird, huh?), we had to go get a rental. Got home about 8 and no time for fixing dinner. Had to stop at the local Taco Bell for a good case of Indigestion. I should have stopped at a real mexican restaurant instead. Anyway I was about to eat when I remembered 365. Here's the shot. Used Auto and Flash... Sorry.

PS... According to the menu, it's called Nacho Bell Grande

We can't help you unless you tell us exactly what make and model of car...the miles on it...exactly what it did when it had the issue...the fact that you nursed it homes means it probably isn't anything catastrohpic...with the internal combustion engine (one of the craziest inventions ever made) 90% of the time the problem is either ignition or fuel...I'm guessing in favor of an electrical problem with your sparse description...

That Nacho El Ranche looks bad man.... :)

Funny you should say that. My mechanic said the same thing. Iginition or fuel. He will read the trouble codes on Monday and drain a little gas to look for problems there. For the record, it's a '98 Toyota Camery with about 190K. Very careful maintenance like oil every air and oil filters etc. Worst thing to ever happen to this car was the busted Heater Core last summer. I just don't want to buy another car. I'd rather use the money for something more important like a D7000

Oh it has to be something weird because 98 Camry's with 190 on the clock don't break readily...

If it is a 4 cylinder one of the common problems they have with big miles is there is part of the wiring harness that runs down along a cover that goes to a connector right by the alternator bracket...if it comes loose from the connecter then the wire rubs on the belt you lose electricity your car runs like crap...that is my shot in the dark diagnosis...

After that I would check fuel pressure to tell me about the fuel pump and injectors and what not...then I would check fire...distributor and coil packs plugs etc unless the computer told me something like crank sensor or cam sensor...

If you broke a timing belt you are in deep caca...

I bet it is gonna say you have random multiple misfires...one thing you could test real easy is to get it started and running and pull off one of the battery cables...if it dies you have a spot rubbed into your harness down by the alternator or your alternator is bad...that is something you can do very easily by yourself that will tell you something maybe...

My gut is telling me that you are dealing with either a restricted fuel filter or a bad fuel pump.

But I could be wrong. :)

I appreciate all the efforts guys. You are both probably very close to right if not Spot On. With the exception of checking oil and other fluid levels, I am totally lost on the computer controled cars of today. That's why I have a mechanic with 20 years of Toyota experience. His son has almost 10 years of Toyota experience. They left to start their own garage and I switched to them. They will get the car on Monday and I'll let you know their findings. My son-in-law sells auto parts so I get those at cost.

It's nice to have a mechanic you trust as knowledgeble, and a son-in-law to keep track of him.

Almost forgot. The car is a V6, and the timing belt and tensioner were replaced two months ago.

The granddaughters were with us last night and today. They wanted us to put up their wading pool but it's stil too cold for that.
They were elated with a bucket of water.

So she was firing on all six cylinders but puking out because of fuel on one cylinder...deluxe!

I had my fingers crossed you weren't going to get on here and say a rod has went south...

Keep her oil good and regular...watch that timing belt...check out the distributor...and baby her and she'll probably go 250 and more...kind of like shutter actuations...my camera might be rated for 100K but I bet you I will get 250K out of mine! :)

Today marks the 1/3 milestone. We have successfully completed a third of the challange. Anyway, here's today's shot.
A little setting sunlight, an old CD and some water.

PS: I cheated again and used it for the weekly challange also.

There is a small open 12x20 area (I guess you could call it an atrium) It is open to the elements. Last summer the company put some tables and chairs out there. Today they decided to put some potted plants out there. Here's one of them. As usual I have no clue what it is but it smelled pretty.

I'm sure Pete knows. But you've got to ask him… ;)
