Day One Hundred Six

Time to get lazy. This is today's photo but I think it just might qualify as a "Backlit" photo for the new weekly contest. The sun was still high but still behind the globe.

Most will recognize the Aqua Globe. (As Seen on TV). My wife got a set this past Christmas. They actually work in our patio tomatos in the spring. In the sumer you have to fill them every day as well as water the pots, so not much point in using them.

I personally am not real happy with this shot, but it's the best I've been able to come up with today. I think I did everything wrong on this one F stop to low (f5.6) and it made the photo too soft. We'll have a few days of rain and I'll try this one again with my 105 and a higher F number (maybe f11) to get more depth of field. Anyway, here's my feeble attempt at a photo for today.

It's alright...has it's own sort of cool feel...what lens did you use on this one? :)

Thanks Jeff. That was the 18-55 kit lens that came with the camera. Since my eyesight has been slipping, Manual focus is very difficult for me, but it was too dark to get the lens to autofocus. Had to give it my best shot. I was going to try the same shot this morning using the 105 and the DR-6 Right Angle Viewfinder to help me focus but rain stopped that. Maybe next clear morning.

Today I looked around and found this. Not much. It's supposed to be a part of a set of three. So far I've only seen the one.

I had absolutely no time to do anything with the camera today. When we got home, I lit the grill and started cooking some Hot Dogs. I looked up and saw this cloud. I normally try two or three subjects to choose from each day but today this is my only one. Since it's my ONLY shot today, you guys are stuck with it.

Day One Hundred Twelve

Saturday is "Recycle" day. I loaded the car with cardboard, bottles, cans, and plastics and it was off to the Recycle Center. As you can see. lots of people recycle around here. After all... I do live in GREENE county.

Of course, on the way out the driveway, I had to stop and get a shot of my wife's first rose of 2012

Day One Hundred Thirteen

Really busy today, which is unusual for an old (insert expletive of your choice) like me. Rain kept me inside all day and when it started getting late, I started looking around the house. I opened my wife's necklace box and found this. She has many pearls, some real and some fake. I think these were fake ones, but I can not really tell the difference. It did give me the idea that I can always use jewelry as a back up plan... LOL.

Little Raggedy Ann.
I kept telling her her to pull her skirt down but her bloomers are still visible. She's such a hussy.
