ID this plane?

Saw this one go overhead and have never seen it before. Anyone know what this is?

Looks like a de Havilland Sea Venom to me. de Havilland always did make the worlds ugliest jet fighters. If i could make out the serial number that'd give a positive id

De Havilland Vampire. Longer nose then the Venom, not quite right for a Sea Venom either. Something like 80 are still flying, can't find anything on the internet for a wb166 or wd166.

Yeah, tried that, but it comes up as a Vickers Valetta, a British transport aircraft similar to a DC-3 that was scrapped in 1958

On looking again i think you're technically correct. the best kind of correct! Not enough leading edge wing sweep for a Venom. It was the first glance appearance of the RN livery that put me off
