My lab did that all the time. She looked so funny kicking her back legs in the air. I shot an image of her one time with dried grass stuck all over her.

A couple of landscape/cloudscape shots.

3 shots-HDR'd (sort of) Used some layers and GIMP

A single shot of the same scene

Similar to the shot I did yesterday (different camera and lens)
I like the light on the weed seeds/flowers.

Day #23 Jan. 23

On the morning walk, spotted something in the top of a tree. Closer examination discovered this Woodpecker (I don't know what kind, Merlin is keeping it a secret. Ha!)

This Loggerhead Shrike is pretty dependable to be in the same place every day.

I almost missed this sunset tonight.

Male ladderback; very nice.
Thanks. The iphone Merlin APP did not show it, but after you told me I looked it up at the Merlin web site and there it was. Ha!

Your doing well with the 70-300 on birds, wait till you get a 600:D
The majority of my bird shots are heavily cropped. They are usually taken while I am doing my daily walk around the property with the dog. The 70-300 is on the D7100 which hasn't seen any other lens since I got it. The 18-55 is on the D5300 where it has been since I got the D7100.
The 600 is only a pipe dream for now. Too many wants, so I would have to get rid of my wife to cover the costs. Ha!

Looks like you got that d7100 figured out. Nice shots!

Thanks, and I wish I had it figured out. Ha! Now my problem is that I am getting used to having more control of settings using dials instead of going into the menu as is done with the D5300. I was really comfortable with the D5300, but now after using the 7100 I have to think about how to change something with the 5300. Oh well, the agony of having to deal with variety.

Day #24 Jan. 24

The past few days photography has been somewhat limited. I finally have time to process some photos and post, so I am catching up.

One for the Discarded/Thrown Away Challenge

Quickly tried out the new Yongnuo YN568EX. Just a quick shot to make sure it worked on the camera.

Day #25 Jan. 25

With the knowledge that I wouldn't be able to get many photos today, I snapped a couple of the early morning sun gracing the area.

Day #26 Jan. 26

This will get me caught up.

A sparrow that would not cooperate. I only got one shot with the head turned so eye and beak were visible, but it was not in focus. This one was the one that ended up in focus.

A Curve-Billed Thrasher They seem to be one of the few birds I have been seeing lately.

A quick shot of one of the Quail in the covey that I came upon. Have you ever tried to shoot (with camera) these quick up and down flying birds? Ha!
