Help please banding on the 810 and 85mm 1:4 lens

The only thing I see is a very slight checker-board-like pattern, which looks to my like JPEG compression artefacts. Remember that Nikonites forum does its own image size reduction/compression. We would need to see the original NEF.

Is this "banding" you have in mind?

I just loaded your image into Photoshop and saved it as JPEG with lowest possible quality. This dramatically exaggerated the compression artefacts.

If you could take the image and circle what you are calling banding, or draw an arrow pointing it out, that would help a lot.
