Hardest photoshoot yet.

Well I was asked to do a photoshoot today and didn't think it could go as hard as it did.

The biggest issue were that one of the kids didn't want to be there and was in a grumpy mood not doing as he was asked. I managed a couple of shots I think, but have to say I am dis-heartened with my ability to do groups such as this. I am guessing it is no fault of my own but should i have been able to overcome these issues? It was shot in a park and the little boy didn't even want to play with the bubble things or kick the ball.

Any way I will post some of the shots here when processed.

Scott, some people just won't cooperate. Groups are difficult to photograph, for a multitude of reasons, even when all are cooperative.

Kids are the hardest things to shoot. There is no controlling a kid who does not want to be there. To bad we can't carry Nitrous oxide with us and give them a little shot of it every once in a while to loosen them up.

Even if just a kid, it always sucks doing work for someone who doesn't want it. I'm hope enough parents understand the circumstances in these kinda cases not to fully blame us for not being able to take our shots. After all, its not like a photog is ever a clown.

I wouldn't let it get you down Scott. I have a 5 year old daughter and I know how hard it can be. I'm sure there are clever tricks of the trade and you'll pick them up soon enough. But they can only go so far, especially if you have no kind of relationship with the child beforehand.

On occasion if my daughter really doesn't want to get involved then I'll just shoot mommy and I let her see all the "fun" we're having and then she really wants to get involved. Obviously that can backfire on you bigtime so think about that too. But for the most part it's a way to convince her without having to verbally convince her.

Kids will be kids Scott. I'm sure you did a great job.

i was walking thru the duck pond today and in front of me was a girl shooting a mom and dad with their quads, anyway the mom took of her top and put on a new one right in front of us as we were passing, some things you see and never shoot at. lol

but back to your story Scott, one of the boys also wouldn't play ball, he just wanted to hide behind the tree.

one of the reasons i like to shoot wild life.

Well Scott, I think they are very good shots. Much better than I could have done, but hey, all of your shots are much better than I can do. For that matter there are probably a lot of things you can do better than I can, but I am old. Ha!!

Anyway, I am sure your shots will be appreciated by the family.
