I really must consider a Coolpix P600/P610. Are there any downsides to it being a bridge camera?

Yes yes and yes i find all mirrorless cameras to be slow in the viewfinder and you dont have much scope for cropping,still struggling with BIF but at the moment ime glad its an addition i have made.

Juvenile Bald Eagle down below his nest. Not sure if he's able to get back up there yet. I could have walked all the way up on this guy, but figured I should keep away. Sure wish he'd have been in the light.

Dont know if this bird had there version of cramp but it stood there ages like this and then walked off normally

I used to have a parrot that did that to relieve his feet.

Correct but what i read before buying is that raw can be a problem from that size sensor due to noise issues and ime crap at noise reduction so its ok for me.

I didn't know about that. Either way the shots look darn fine .

No bird today but a cool free bird identification program
Tested it out and it did very well.
Was able to fool it with a picture of my Ringneck Parrot - a native of Indian and S.E. Asia not northern AB where I took the picture. it does say it is for north american birds (works in Canada and USA didn't test Mexico).
