D7100 musings

Well back in November I jumped into the water and got one after much research. I got it for many reasons but most of all to help me stay focused on doing something to get through the pain of being multi arthritic. The smaller body makes it easier for my hands to hold. I just love that it uses vintage Nikkor glass. I can use it for hours and the time flys by and I forget about pain and enjoy beauty.Sometimes the camera does count. Yeah I grew up looking at Nikon pics, watching it go into space, seeing it used by reporters, bringing beauty in a captured moment.I don't need to upgrade, the 7100 is my Excalibur. It has been a handle that has opened doors, gave me contact with other neato people, and allowed me to get somewhat creative. So thank you all for making me welcome and thanks to Nikon. Have a marvelous week all!

Great to hear how much you enjoy using your D7100, photography is a great way to escape from the day to day trappings of work, ailments etc. Its a relatively new hobby for me but has given me a lot already. I'll be joining you in the D7100 club at some point next week. Hopefully I'll get as much enjoyment from it as you clearly have!

This is a great perspective. The D7100 is a great camera, and in these days of constant technological innovation, many times it's hard to remember how good we have it now. Sure, there are better cameras on the way in the future, but I've logged countless hours out in the field with my D7100 and gotten many of the best pictures of my 40+ years as a photographer.
