ISO Button

You beat me to it.

to set it up. go into custom settings
then D shooting/display,
D3 iso display,
show iso/easy iso,
press ok.

to operate, press and hold the iso button on the back of the camera (4th one down on the lefthand side)

and use the thumb wheel to adjust.

mmm that doesnt sound right , im sure i use the rear scroll wheel only , no problems , i use the front scroll wheel to adjust aperture

I have gone the easy ISO method but ... this does not apply in M mode. In M the button cannot be re-allocated.

It all sort of makes sense except that you have to remember when you are in aperture (A) it is the main command dial, in shutter (S) the sub command dial and in manual (M) the standard ISO.
Sheesh as if there isn't enough to confuse one already.

And of course this means shooting in Manual less.

Its a whole new rethink for me.

But thanks to Nikon my brain has expanded tremendously since getting back into photography. :)

This is fantastic!! I've been looking for this easy ISO setup thing for a while now. I\As I mostly shoot in aperture priority it's a no brainer for me.

Absolutely Pete. I am seriously thinking of shooting in Aperture for the bulk of my shots. It's beginning to make a lot of sense to me. Hey I'm slow ...

Just Had a look on my D7100 set in easy iso, in M,A.S or P mode, press and hold the iso button(4th button down on the left hand side)

hold the button and turn the front scroll wheel adjusts between manual/auto iso
hold the button and turn the rear scroll wheel lets you adjust the iso.

Yes it is holding the button down that is the pain when in Manual.
With Easy ISO you don't need to hold that button down when in Aperture or Shutter mode.
If not in Easy ISO mode then you need to hold it down in all modes.

Just tried it in A and S mode and your correct, so many things for me to remember :)
