EV -4

Apparently caught this little flower yawning as it seems to have moved slightly at some point during the exposure. Parts of the flower have a double image, like it moved a little.

Crop of the flower. Looks like some parts moved more than others.

Still playing with EV -4

Too much light in the darkness so had to adjust up a couple EV for the conditions.

f/5.6 @ 8 minutes 36 seconds = EV -4

f/8 @ 8 minutes 36 seconds = EV -3

EV -4

Couple more buds at EV -4 before we move on. Really not enough light. The difference between these two is what was playing on the TV about 15 feet (5 meters) away.

f/5.6 @ 8 minutes 34 seconds = EV -4

f/4 at 131 seconds It was late (some might say early) when I posted this. It's the processed shot. SOOC below.

I was nearly asleep at the wheel last night (this morning) when I posted the EV -3 and EV -2 shots. Totally forgot to include the SOOC shots so have added them this morning.

May be my favorite yet in this journey.

And the processed version which is mostly the WB change. This tree was bathed in tungsten light from a street lamp about 50 feet away.

EV 0 Yeahhhhh. Those -EVs are a bit time consuming, but now climbing up into the relatively fast speeds of only a few seconds.

Here's the EV 0 f/stop & shutter combinations. These are calculated values and will vary slightly from the printed tables you see online and in books.

f/stop1.01.42.02.84.05.78.011.316.022.632.045.364.0
Shutter Speed1248163264128256512102420484096

SOOC - Have a reflection of some sort on the left.
DSC_2273_150305_1024_001.jpg

Processed. Added a vignette to diminish the impact of the reflection, but still a bit too distracting.

...so used the adjustment brush to drop highlights and shadows and increase clarity of the reflection. Seemed to help a little.

EV 0

ETA: I goofed and did not set ISO back to 100. Decided I would leave these. They are still EV 0 so helps with the point that EV is independent of ISO.

Decided to take the EV 0 show on the road or, more exactly, in the creek. A series of three using different settings.

SOOC of the scene and same as the first below (f/4 and 8 seconds)
