All in all this makes shooting a very zen-like hobby. Set shutter and aperture in manual and shoot. No more worrying about what ISO to use and how much to compensate.

I'm not much of a birder, but when they come up and knock on the door, they're pretty hard to avoid.

Lucky. The only ones knocking at my door are dour propagandists in somber black suits -- not at all tempted to take a picture.

Spotted about a dozen Bald Eagles up north today. Many were out fishing in the frozen Mississippi River and were out of reach. Did find one good fella who decided to come in for a quick session.
