Here I am at age 16 and age 13 below, on my Gretsch kit, shedding my rudiments. I went on to study at Berklee and then toured for many years then on to studio work and teaching..

I like the "drum" thread better.

My 3 favorite drummers in no particular order.

Ginger Baker
Ringo Starr
Ian Pace
Keith Moon
Those were my early influences when I was a rocker, then my jazz days brought Elvin Jones, Max Roach, Sonny Payne, and many more jazz masters into my realm. BTW...the Zutty monicer is for Zutty Singleton, a jazz master from way back.

Actually, that is 4 but no John Bonham?

Just a joke, but do you know what coffee and Ginger Baker have in common? They both suck without Cream!

LOL. I haven't heard that one. Actually Baker was in Blind Faith as well which was basically the same as Cream with Steve Winwood added and Jack Bruce replaced with Ric Grech..

There is a documentary on Baker's life out called "Beware Of Mr. Baker. Quite disturbing. Although a great musician, he is also mentally ill.

I've seen that. I don't know if he's any more disturbed then any other drummer.:D
Keyboard players seem to be the most well adjusted musicians.
Then probably guitar players.
Singers seem to be too needy and whiny, followed by bass players who are either lacking in self esteem , have no interest in band politics or just tired of constantly fighting with drummers.:D

These are of course just my own observations being in a few bands in my younger days.

Jeff is my 1st name, Chris. I've been called J.T. since I was a kid. The Zutty moniker comes from the great jazz drummer Zutty Singleton.
