A very cool spider. There are a couple species that are found as far north as Denmark, but most are found in the Med basin. This page has a list and good images

Thank you, it was more luck than anything else, I was trying to get the spider but the slight breeze was making it more backwards and forwards towards the lens, so it was press and pray.

I was searching for the spider, when I spied the web in the garden. Then along comes one and I thought it was the owner. Then as it struggled I tried to get the shots, till I realized it was the victim!
