Day 9 and two more from my playing around with the Raynox 70-200 f4 combo. Also onboard flash, too lazy to go downstairs and get my external flash.

Day 11, took a drive my boss to find new subjects. Trying my hand at ducks and a barn. Not sure what kind of ducks these are.

Day 13, just another leaf shot. Not sure why the high ISO, call it a senior moment as I took one inside and forgot to change when I went outside. Lesson learned as the other shot I had planned looked horrible and I didn't realize the high ISO. Need to reshoot today with correct ISO.

I dont see the high iso showing in the image, also, you dont want to get to slow a shutter, so this setting would be one I would use without a blink. I would like a little warmer color, though?

I agree and did some tweaking to it, although I do need to warm it up, Thanks Mai. The ISO, I am embarrassed, I thought it was on 200. I was able to crop some of the noise that was in black area and clean up the rest.

I like the way the leaves were laying so I might reshoot later, this is one of those that you have in your mind but it didn't work when you got it on the computer.

I warmed it up a bit Mai, I like it better, Thanks.

Day 14, Raynox 70-200 and a flash. Amazes me how much magnification you get out this Raynox. DOF is really narrow. Oh and I am trying to design a watermark, I think it needs more work but I really didn't like the way I had it.

Day 15, wish I had been 10 minutes earlier but found this one the way to my sons basketball, which we were late for because I had to stop. He got over it, but in my rush I realized later that I cut the top of the tree off so please forgive me on that one. I processed this a few different ways a couple of different plugins and did a square crop to remove some distractions. Really need to figure how BW processing. All the EXIF is basically the same. I will go back with more time but this is what I ended the day with.

Great Krs! I dont think it does the image worse, that you didnt have air above the tree - it match the reflection, which we dont see all of either.
Also you got your entire frame filled with tree.

I am a sucker for number 2 :) Just beautiful.

Thank you, I kind of like 2 as well, more details. I turned the corner while driving and saw this and my son, who is 11, said what now Dad. I backed up and fired a few off. The water was so calm and the reflection was there, I got almost giddy and should have taken it slower. I am still playing with another version on my PC, but its similar to 2 except a little heavier on the blacks. I dont how many times I have driven by this same tree and never really looked at.

I know in B&W higher contrast is often better but I like #1, the greys show more detail and it has a softer look. Funny how when you have a camera in hand you seem to notice a lot more of the things which we often pass by in our daily lives.

Thank you and that is so true. I love BW, so really just starting to figure it out based on what Jake wrote up as well as playing with the NIK collection and OnOne software I have.
