I saw this bugger this morning when I went out to get the paper. I am surprised it was out and about, given the time of year. It was about 2 inches long. It is called a "hammerhead worm" and believe it or not this thing can grow to 20" in length!
That's definitely something unusual. If you happen to be on Facebook, you should check out a page called Biblical Creation. They post photos of some highly unusual plants, insects, etc. such as a monkey faced orchid and a caterpillar that has the face of a snake. That's what I thought of as soon as I saw your photo.
