A Moment of Madness

It was indeed!

How could I have even thought it was sane?

Nikon AF-S VR 18- 105 f/3.5-5.6 DX, Nikon Af-S 35mm f/1.8G DX plus Nikon AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF VR

All in one hit!

Crazy or what?

Reminds me of the movie "Dances with Fools"

However for those of you not already in the insanity bubble it is quite cozy in here and happy times 24/7. :D

Yes it is and I am pleased to hear that you are happy with it weebee - its always a bit worrying to know if you have done the right thing but all the reports are good. I did try a 55 - 200 my housemate has and it is just a wee bit short on reach. I am hoping that this is a marked improvement.
Only arrives in the country towards the end of the month so the wait will be excruciating.

Three lenses at once?! Well, I never!!

Well, at least not since I got the 28mm, 50mm and 85mm f/1.8G's all at the same time when my bonus came through. :)

I have the 55-200mm as well as the current 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 and will say that there is a difference optically between them. The 55-200mm lens is terrific on its own, but after switching solely to the 70-300mm, it is remarkably sharp. And as you mentioned, the longer reach is nice to have. The other benefit is that the 55-200mm has a plastic mount while the 70-300mm is metal.

Have fun and enjoy all 3 of your lenses. :)
