DSC_0502.jpgEXIP DETAILS: ISO=140 , aperture = 5.6 , S.speed= 1/125
vivid picture mode

Please suggest me how to improve it as its quite blurry from a side of frame and not too much good quality wise

Well it needs to be in focus, primarily. Beyond that, you don't want to cut your model's head off; this shot really should have been framed vertically.

Exposure and color look good to me.

It sounds like the auto-focus may be malfunctioning if indeed you're focusing on your model's face in the above picture.

Is this camera new or used?

There was someone the other day on here talking about a problem with their photos looking good on the camera but not once they were transferred onto the computer. In the end it was something to do with the card and using the sd card reader. They instead transferred by cable off of the camera and all was good.

I'm trying to go from memory, and maybe it won't help, but you might give it a try.

So are you saying that the blur is subject specific? All your other photos turn out fine? Are we talking about portrait mode on the camera and this happens?

what lens did you use, and how many focus points are active, also is the shutter actuation set for focus or release?

I would test it by switching VR off placing the camera on a tripod or solid surface and take a similar picture, even take one with VR switched on out of interest.

i would try stopping down a little and selecting focus release with single point af-s. try to focus on the eyes.
it is possible that either vr is not engaging, or you are pressing the shutter before it has done so. try turning it off and raising your shutter speed too.

18-55 mm nikkorr lens, out of 9 points only one blink as red, release

From what you're saying you're on continuous focus. Change the setting to AF-S. Next set the camera to "focus" and not "release." This combination could very well explain the blurring.

The best test is as mentioned above, put it on a tripod, or just set it on something, and take a picture.
