This is just an opinion. But I think if you increased the size of the picture to go the width of the poster, and leave the hight of the picture as it is. Then have the yellow and blue parts split the section at the top, it my draw the eyes in a bit more using the water and sailboat, in my opinion. :)

But that's just my guess. :)

I like Bill's suggestion. Also might try a thin border between the sections. The words do seem just a bit crammed in, maybe a slightly smaller font?

My thoughts aligned with Rick's. It seems crammed. The changing of fonts is disruptive as well.

Have you considered featuring the image and having the text appear in the space around the boat?

Sidenote, this appears to be for a business of some sort. If so, I'd grab a domain name and use it for email forwarding to your gmail account. You should have a professional type email address rather than what is on that flyer. Something like [email protected], [email protected] or something to that effect.

Thanks for the input Bill....Rick...Joe....I'll try a few of your suggestions...

This is a not for profit club with about 15 members, We are loosing 5 at the end of the year..

I did this to put on a few notice boards to try and attract some new juniors...

We have several boats and life jackets available for their use..

I'm having the posters printed at A3s

Hello Allen,

Photography has its requirements. So do typography and design! These three art
forms may be well working together on a same poster (i've been working at this
since 30+ years!).

Here are some thoughts you may want to include in you creative process:

• Photography, typography and design should work together, add to the final result,
and not compete for reader's attention.

• Foresee negative space(s): place(s) where the eye may rest and enjoy the ride…

• Be careful with the usage you make of fonts! As few as possible

Here are some examples I made since last week:

Have a good day…
