Kim's 365 for 2013

This is an Inuksuk, there are many built around here. They are more commonly used in Alaska and northern territories in general as landmarks used for directions. There history goes far back in time. Oh, and thanks for asking, there are so many here, that I forgot to think that others may not be familiar with them

We have to drive 100 miles just to see rock. There is none in this area.

Thanks Pat. :) I recently bought 3 nuetral density filters for one of my lenses. I have played with them a few times, but this is essentially my first attempt using them. I am very pleased with the results and plan to play more with them.

This is the coolest little bird, he actually swims in raging rivers, under the water! I have even seen them in the cold of winter, and yes, swimming then too.

I have not been able to find an answer for that yet, we do have an event each spring called "Wings Over the Rockies, but my schedule hasn't enabled me to go to it yet. As soon as I find out, I will pass the info along. The bird will swim in and under the water, even when it has ice on it. I think they are here all year round.

Driving past our little airport the other day, I notice the mirage effect in the heat.

So I decided to sit in the heat and wait for a plane to land,

I was curious as to the effect it would have on a photo, pretty cool, or hot!
