The black blob with weirdly angled feathers is actually one of our neighborly - or not so neighborly - crows. Not sure what I was thinking when I took this.

It was looking at me when I tried the 55-300. After I focused on it, what happened, yes, it turned the back to me

I consider these more of an almost as opposed to a bird in flight, hard little birds to get in flight I must say...

The spider really isn't that bad, you just focused on the legs instead of its body. The legs are very sharp. Try manual focus, that is what I usually do for macro shots.

Did you know that red squirrels run really, really fast? Here are two attempts at trying to get images of two different red squirrels that I encountered this morning on my walk. HaHa! I can't even blame the dog for moving. She sat perfectly still while I was trying to get the photos.

Yes, that brown blob is the squirrel.



This is what happens when you pan the subject well but your shutter speed is way too slow.

How true. I have taken some that I really don't think are oops shots, but I am never sure if they are as good or interesting as I think they may be.

This was just after the rain stopped yesterday evening. I was out in my back yard shooting some nice cloud formations when this guy came along overhead. I ALMOST got him in focus....had to shoot fast, and had the 18-105 lens on the D40. That's a young hawk, by the way.

I saw it out of the moving zoo-cart - focused and waited. I waited too long. The cart was faster LOL

For sitting in an idling car (that vibrates) and for shooting in a limited movement position, all while hand holding a camera.

I dunno....I would have to say ya done good!
