Exposure 1/5000 sec.

Any suggestions? Improvements? I just wish I got more detail with the bumblebee

Cool in-flight capture, but it's probably one of those times when there's just too much air around the subject. How much have you cropped already? I'm thinking a little more bee and a little less space could be better. After that maybe lighten up the bee a bit and play with the white balance. Real-real quick edit that I should have spent more time with to give you an idea.

Nice! I like how the bee turned out, but I feel the background is a little over exposed now. But the Bee definitely shows more detail. What did you do to lighten it up? Maybe there is a way to just adjust the bee?

I just played with the levels tool VERY quickly and used the Dodge tool a bit on the bee. All in Photoshop, though it would be the same in elements. Personally, I would use my Nik tools and control points to isolate the changes if I had the time. With PS or PSE I'd isolate the bee in a layer using the magic lasso and limit my adjustments to it after doing some basic level and white balance adjustments.
