A new way to fly.

Full disclosure.....This is a cell phone pic ( that's why I am posting it here) my son sent me. He is an Aviation Mechanic for Life Flight and was there to help get this Helo off the roof of the hospital. There was a construction crane set up that morning and the pilot hit the flag on top of the crane as he was landing. If you look closely at the blade on the left you can see how it shredded when it hit. Thank God no one was hurt. The Helo's transmission and engines, however, needs to be completely torn down. If you know mechanics you know they are not happy if you hurt their helicopters.

Glad no one was injured. Those things don't bounce well. Makes me wonder why a construction crane was so close to the helipad?

That opens a whole can of worms....Not sure yet who told who it was being put there that morning. It was replacing an HVAC unit. These are question for the NTSB.

Here is the front page of the local paper showing another shot of the removal. Not a great picture but the guy holding the end of the rotor blade is my son.
