--------How I started out in Photography-------
Kodak Easy Share:
This was my very first camera of my own that I used. It was a point and shoot camera and the year was 2008 and I was 10 Years old. Don't remember which easy share it was but Sadly I ended up loosing it which made me go cameraless for quite awhile into I had the oppurtunity to buy another camera. It was like I lost it for a reason, faith didn't want me using such a crappy camera
Nikon Coolpix L110:
Now this was a big step up from my Kodack Easy Share. The Nikon Coolpix L110, a 12 Mega Pixel Point and Shoot. I had many great memories with this camera. Though I was still using Auto this gave me the confidence to take more photography, I still remember how good the macro shots of this camera was.
I ended up trading it to this kid in school and ended up getting ripped off for it. Boy I learned my lesson
Sony HX100V:
Now this camera got me to buy my first DSLR. Although this wasn't a DSLR it was what you would call a bridge camera and a good one at that. It had a beautiful lens on it. It was the first camera I usesd that had manuel focus. I played around with it and really liked the camera. There was one problem though. It was horrible in low light. I began searching online how to get better low light shots. I came across search results saying you have to get a DSLR and the low light problem is do to the small sensor size in point and shoot cameras. I was determined to buy my first DSRL. This camera was around the same price as an entry level DSLR a little bit less. I returned it the next week and saved up for a Nikon D5100 which will be next
Nikon D5100:
This was my first DSLR. Finally I though i could take crazy good photos and they would be great in low light. I was pleasently surprised when I saw the quality pictures I was getting. I was still shooting in Auto and i was still shooting in JPEG. I started messing around the menu systems and I came across image quality. That's where I saw RAW. I figured to myself RAW must be the best quality with no compression. I switched to Raw and from there on out I only shot in Raw. I began to venture in Wildlife photography. Using my 18-55mm lens was a bit of a struggle but it got me where I needed to go. It was still a good lens for landscape when getting those wide angles. One thing I leanred after a couple of weeks of using the camera were all the different modes we have now. I saw A, S and M. I had no idea what these letters meant but I soon found out. I began going into Shutter Priority. I learned all about ISO and what it did, Shutter Speed just by messing around myself. I was still oblivoise of what aperature did. I started getting more control out of my shots. Getting the shots I yearned for. It was still intimidating to go into full manuel so I stuck with shutter priority. I eventually ditched that and went full maneul. I finally fellt like I was in control! My Nikon I began to get used to the feel the buttons. I got better and better at using it. Low light shots were still not the best but I didn't really care at that point. I bought this camera for getting low light and I found a love for something I didn't even know existed.
I eventually and finally purchased a high quality telephoto lens. Well at least I thought it was really good at the time. It was a 70-300mm VR. Lens. It had extremley fast auto-focus. I still did't care about the apererature. I began thinking of all the uses I could get out of this telephoto lens. I thought what sports events I could take, the close ups of wildlife I could take, and I found a new love for portrait photography out of this lens which it was a great lens for that. I began going to wildlife reservations to test out my new lens. I remeber going to Plum Island and how excited I was seeing the birds fly over our car as we drove by. Of coarse I brought my peterson field guide. I got out and I remember heading towards this lake area where there were a couple of Lesser Yellowlegs and I remember getting the shots it felt awsome to see what was coming out of the camera the close up shots. I saw an Ospey in the sky. Managed to get a picture which I though was crazy close at the time but that's because i cropped it 100% and even then It wasn't even that close. Be the judge for yourself. I got a lot of decent bird shots and the memories will last forever. This was my new favorite lens to use. This Lens eventually got into into Astrophotography
I began using this lens to take pictures of the moon the wonders I was getting from it. I was getting decent shots and I remeber just beeing obsessed with taking pictures of the moon. This was about 3 years ago and I did't even know Mr. Toomey who would really kick start my astrophotography obsession. Softmore year in Highschool is when I was told my him about a place called the ATMOB Clubhouse. It was an astronomy club, there they had dome telescopes, you could learn how to make your own mirror. I wasn't even doing that yet then. Mr toomey tells me I got him into Digital Photography after me bringing my Camera. I began just taking pictures of Jupitar out of my 70-300mm lens. I was wondering why I couldn't see the color in Jupitar

. I soon learned about the T-Ring and telesocpes. I had to get one of those. I purchsed one from Orions website and I was of on the astornomy craze. I was using and am still using now a Televue 85 (600mm) refractor telescope on a polar aligned mount. I began to fall in love with the things in the sky I could capture on my camera. I used to look into telecopes when I was young and never though I could be taking pictures of them. Glad to be alive at this time. Only recently has Astrophotography been available to the masses. It was almost impossible to take these images with film and back then telescopes were really expensive. Only really NASA were releasing images from space. Astromeners were really limited to eye gazing.
As the technology grew in cameras I began to wonder. I knew I had an entry level DSLR which was perfectly fine. But I wanted something more. Something I soon learned to be called full Frame
Sony A7R
The camera I own now. This camera was a tough choice to make. I have been using a nikons for around 5 Years and was intending to buy another Nikon. I began seeing that there was an even bigger sensor size than the one I already had. An actual 35mm sesnor. I began thinking of the great low light photos I could get on that. I started to learn about depth of field on a full frame camera and the benefits of it. I figured it was a no brainer to get one until I saw the price tag. I was looking at some of the Nikon Full Frame cameras and the price blew me away. My hopes were lost at getting one anytime soon. I would end up getting one 2 years later. I worked the crap out of my Nikon D5100. Still getting great shots with it, My favorite lens and the kit lens was all I had. The Nikon D5200 came and and then there were talks of a Nikon D5300 I said alright I think it's a good time to sell my camera and equipment. I managed to get almost all my money back from the original purchase loosing about $100. I though it was worth it. Now it was time to save up for a full frame camera. I saved up for a year selling everything I had. From this to that. I figured my room would be empty by the time I get it

. I really apprecitate now that I had to wait that long to get a full frame camera. It really gave me time to slow down and learn from other people. I really started watching Fro Knows Photos. I've watched him before but really didn't know who he was. He taught me so much in advancing my photography confidence and in that I thank you! I finally learned what aperture was and Finally figured out why I wasn't getting great low light shots. It wasn't my camera, it was the lens. the Aperature. Did I regret selling my camera at that point and maybe I should of bought a better lens. I began to have some regrets but really I though it was better for me to have this full frame camera. I though I deserved it and how great my photography would come out. The Nikon D610 came out and I figured this was the time to buy one. Until Stop the Presses! The sony A7/A7R came out.
I've used mirrorless cameras before but knew they wern't full frame. This changed everything. The world first Full Frame Mirrorless DSLR. I was siked and had to get it. I though how much better mirroless would be for me. I was not aware that it wouldn't have an optical view finder i found out that's what mirroless meant. Everything that I though I would love about the camera I didn't. Yeah it took good photos at the right lighting conditions but it just didn't feel like a camera. I felt Sony Abandoned me. I wanted to love the camera but there was just too many problems. I kept this this camera for 2 months then sold it. Should of not got another Sony. I was having bad luck since the day I got the camera. It was cloudy every Saturday I tried to use it. It was almost faith telling me not to use this camera and that it wasn't the camera for you. Of coarse this is all how I felt using this camera you could feel a totally different way. As for me too many problems, it felt like a prototype and it kind of was seeing it was the first of it's kind. Below are some images I took from it. So I have to say this is the first Full Frame DSLR I've owned.
