Could someone direct me to some information on the use of the memory recall switch and the memory set button?Any explanation would be useful. I find the manual explains this poorly. thanks

I typically use the Nikon300/2.8 lens with the 1.7 teleconverter hand held in the field. I want a more comfortable way to hold this lens and was thinking about a grip I could attach to the tripod mount. Any help would be appreciated on where to find one.
