struggling to resize my photos to upload. originals are 6.5 meg. i have no idea what this is going to look like !!

Hi All new member here (also new to photography). just bought a D3400 and have just tired to upload some of my first attempts via the "gallery" tab but keep getting a message saying the site is down ??. will try again later
