bought a new mainboard for 135$ on ebay. hopefully it fixes it. definitely not sending it to nikon

Nikon wants me to send it in for more than I paid for it... 🤦 can I fix it myself? I can take this apart its just diagnosing exactly went wrong is still my main task...

Without a lens or memory card, the Err message is the same. I hit shutter, I see Err, I hit shutter again, I see the ISO/F settings, then I hit shutter again and its Err.

After adjusting the depth to around 18mm I press the shutter and it goes to Err and the mirror snaps, then I press shutter again and it says "250 f5" and the mirror snaps.

The main LCD (monitor?) wont turn on. I tried pressing the menu key and the Lv button, it just goes back to "Err" on the control panel and stays dark. Never seen the LCD turn on. I got this body used. What I tried: 1. factory reset 2. formatted the sd card (it has a supported sandisk 512gb...
