Here's a link to several methods. I tried the Photoshop view of exif data using one of your posted images. I couldn't find the shutter count, but it was a JPEG, and the link says it usually won't work with a JPEG. You might try it with a RAW file, if the other methods don't work.

How to check your shutter count

Ron, are you uploading a full size image? If it's cropped or had its resolution lowered, it doesn't always work on that website. Those were the only times I couldn't get a shutter count.

My method of checking is to post an unedited photo into Flickr and check the exif info.
It is easy enough to find it this way but, file from some cameras can lose the shutter count if they have been edited.
This works on my d850 and previously owned nikon dslr bodies.

I want to know both the mechanical shutter count and the electronic shutter count for my Z6iii. With the Camera Shutter Count
I get 3226 and with the
I get 2358,
With those numbers I can calculate that I have 2358 mechanical actuations and 868 electronic actuations.
I have no idea if the apotelyt-site also works for other Nikon cameras, or only for Z6. Maybe someone can give an answer to that.

Nikon: Why don't you have these numbers presented in the menu system?

I had a look at your FLIKR pics and the pic of the dog is image number 35990 from your d7100 and the image of the cloud in the sky is image number 55933.
The shutter count for nikon cameras comes under image number.
Just click on show exif and scroll down until you find it.
I took the trouble to google search your question and another person had asked the same question about a d5100 on the FLICKR help page.

Why does it show HIDE EXIF?

When I opened your thread I clicked hide exif, which, by the way was a lighter letterset than the other info, this then led me to the pic of your dog without exif showing,,,,,until I clicked again and then it showed exif along with the image number (shutter count).

THAT IS THE DATA I SEE IF FLICKR - NO SHUTTER COUNT. NOT SURE WHAT YOU MEAN MARILYNNE.

I CHECKED several other IMAGES IN FLICKR, NO SHUTTER COUNT THAT I SAW.

Screenshot 2025-08-05 061831.jpg

I CLICK ON SHOW EXIF AND I SEE NO SHUTTER COUNT.

With all due respect I have taken the trouble to answer your question and stated the answer in a previous post. To the best of my reasonably well informed knowledge and confirmation by FLICKR staff it is correct. The shutter count of a Nikon DSLR on FLICKR is called Image number and is two lines above your name in the EXIF info. Bump, Bump, Bump ,,,, (the sound of me hitting my head against the study wall).
