After purchasing a Sekonic L-508 from the local brick-n-mortar toy store, they had this for sale:

Sekonic%20758%20and%20exposure%20chart.jpg

A Sokonic L-758DR and Exposure Profile Target!

Since I bought the L-508 just a month ago, they let me return it for a full refund and apply it towards these.

Now I just gotta figure out how to use 'em.

Let us know how that works out for you.

I wonder if I really need a light meter or not. As I understand it if you are stuck in TTL mode for lighting maybe not. But as soon as you 'graduate' to non-TTL, especially with strobes you should add the purchase of one of these gizmo's to your purchase order for that big strobe set (or manual non-TTL speedlights if you go that route).

I'm upgrading from a Gossen Starlite.

Well my car has been giving me issues !

SO I have brought new tools, Spark Plug remover, compression tester, new plugs, coil pack, ht leads, oil and filter ... That hasnt fixed the issue so need to look further into it :(

However on a positive note I brought some photography gear !!

6x 16gb Sandisk Extrems SDHC cards

Battery storage cases so that they are in the bag in cases of 4 and not rattling around in the bag

Carrying on with my Peak Design obsession I got the Lens Kit to make changing lenses when i am at a wedding a doddle

Also brought a book on posing and techniques to give me some more ideas when working with the models !!

Boxing Day- Sold D7000, and picked up a low shutter count D7200. Found a D3s for a price I could not pass (high shutter count) but in immaculate condition.

Last night- Picked up a whack load of umbrellas/softboxes, reflectors, more stands then I know what to do with and some strobe lights from a guy who used to do studio work. Most of the stuff is older, but all works and lets me play around without having to break the bank. Will set it all up today and take some photos.

About all I can setup given the room I have to make a "studio". My fiancé and I are expecting our first child in June, so the plan is to do her monthly baby bump photos until the baby arrives, then I will try my hand at newborn photos.

Just bought the BEIKE BK-45 Gimbal Tripod Head. Hoping it will help with birding. Getting to old to hold the D750 with the 150-600 as steady as I would like. I know it will work great on my tripod but I wonder how it would work on a monopod? Anyone tried that?

Don Kuykendall i see lots of birders out with a gimbal/monopod (big glass too) so it must work, i havent tried it on my monopod, but think about it on the tripod vs monopod you wouldn't need to step over/around the tripod leg, just need to hold it steady and swivel. Sounds easy, right.
