For another $450, you could get yourself a seat in the B-17 or the B-24 for an actual flight. A ride in the B-25 cost $400. And for a real treat, you could get some stick time in the the P-51 Mustang (above), "the world's greatest fighter ... the only full dual control P51C Mustang fighter." That experience cost $2,200 for a half-hour or $3,200 for a full hour. I passed but did enjoy seeing the planes.

All in all, a fun time was had by all. The show ends today, by the way, so you'll have to hustle out to Troutdale, which is east of Portland, if you want to get a look. Or you can check out the foundation's website for information about the planes, where they came from, the restoration process, etc.

We try to see them when they're in Boca Raton. Missed them this year.

they where here in yakima when i returned from my trip. I saw them last year so i passed this time. Hard to imagine sitting in the cockpit or gunners port during a mission. Guess it was like flying coach now. :)
