It looks like a sound trigger for flash. Am I right Don?

WE were using the TriggerTrap flash adapter to fire the flash. It was triggered by the BB gun we used to pop the flash. The cameras were set on bulb. 3 flash units all set to 1/128 power to get the shortest flash duration we could get.

Some of the balloons were filled with plain water, some had glitter in them (these can out the best) and a couple filled with shaving cream.

We will probably do this at least one more time with a few variations with the contents of the balloon. Coke, just glitter, colored powder and whatever else we think might be interesting.

I think the shaving cream creates the most interesting photo (for my personal taste that is). Did it take a lot of tries to setup this trigger?

It did take a while to dial in the delay to get the effect we were after. We started at a 45 millisecond delay and worked or way down to 0. The 0 delay worked best for us. The flash units were set of 1/128 power to get the shortest possible flash duration. With that setup we got the water still in the shape of the balloon and most of the balloon gone. I did find out that the odd coloring was glitter in the water balloon and those shots were my favorite. The shaving cream did not explode enough but was still pretty cool. WE will probably have one more session but use many different things in the balloons.

I started working on using the triggertrap to catch a water drop into water. It works now just have to fine tune it to get the effect I am looking for.

This is the aftermath of the area in my friend @BamaBob's yard. Photo shot by him.
