Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but how do you guys upload your shots? I have been using photo bucket and I have noticed that there rendering is horrible and seems to rinse all the fizz from my shots. is there a better way?

Are you resizing them before uploading?

Hey Fish! Why do you resize them first? Is it better this way?
I thought there was/is some issue with the maximum dimensions and if you upload a shot that's longer than 1,000 pixels the EXIF data gets truncated. I don't know if that's still the case but I resize now out of habit. Plus I don't like it when people upload HUGE files that force me to resize in my browser so it fits the screen for "proper" viewing.

I resize them in photobucket but not directly I will try uploading them direct to hear. Is there a recommended file size for this site?

I haven't had a failed upload from computer to site with pictures that are up to 14mb. So I'm not sure what the limit is. I'm sure there's a limit somewhere. I just haven't found it yet.

I resize in Photoshop touch after post processing and then upload directly to my member photos here! Otherwise the site can sometimes turn your photo! Lol :)
I've seen some upsidedown photos recently! Lol :D

When you resize in PS is there a particular size you stick to or do you vary it?
Its a good job my screen rotates 360 degrees, would have a painful neck trying o view images upside down ;)

Lol I just resize so that the longest side is no more than 1000 pixels I believe! Keep the size down to no more than that and it has turned out fine for me! :D

Sometimes I forget to resize and it tells me the file is to big. So I resize when exporting to my computer while converting to jpeg.

I use Photobucket too and see a lot of the same things you do. Also, if you are using IE remember that it is not color safe so the image seen on the web may look like crap compared to what you are seeing in Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. Mozilla Firefox is much better but still not perfect. I have never used Chrome so I cannot comment on it. It also helps if you get the stuff to calibrate your monitor. I re-calibrate mine about once a month. It only takes about 5-10 minutes depending on the set-up.

When I tried uploading on here, I got the image is too big to be uploaded.... No automagical stuff here... :(
Are you talking about uploading to your photo gallery, or just uploading to a post?
I get the same message when uploading to my gallery, but not when I'm uploading to a post.
