Dailight portrait too much light, what can I do?

I took some portrait in direct daylight, face shadows were very dark and hilight very strong. Any suggestion?

Expose for the background/ambient light and use fill flash on your subject.

Right, fill flash. Even the little internal flash can help close cases (but too close is never good for portraits). For distances more than about 7 feet, you need a larger hot shoe flash. Fill flash in bright sun is what Nikons default TTL BL flash mode is for. See Flash pictures are Double Exposures- Outdoors
