I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. I am testing a MIOPS trigger, which has a flash output with a PC sync connector. My sb-700 does not have a PC sync connection. Can I use this: Amazon.com: StudioPRO TTL Hot Shoe Adapter Base for Nikon Photography Flash Mount: Camera & Photo hook the trigger up to the flash without being mounted to the camera?
I am under the impression that this adapter is meant to trigger off camera flashes only when mounted on the camera. In other words, does it matter what direction the PC sync connection is going? I realize I wouldn't get TTL.
