DIY Flash Brackets Done

I posted a while back about these brackets. I just used 3/4" aluminum 5 1/2 inches long, sharpened the edges where it fits into the bracket "kinda a knife edge" with a dremel, pop riveted the velcro on the underside of the bracket. Got some self stick dense foam at ace hardware to finish it up. It is so much more secure with the flash mounted this way than using the hotshoe for mounting. The pictures shows it mounted with the wireless attached. Notice you can still get to the flash controls. The bracket also aims the flash more to the center of the umbrella.



I like this bracket.

Do you still see a need for the diffuser on the speed light when employing this rig?

nope, it was just on it when I mounted.

This is with the flash mounted flat and no diffuser.

Hey it works and I could not find a bracket I was happy with. I think I'll make a 3rd one to hold one more flash.
