Yongnuo flashes, anyone have these? need feedback :)

anyone have this flash unit? Am putting this on my Christmas list, and wanted to hear from others- can't afford a $500 speedlight and this is my first flash (besides my vivitar 283 that I have NO idea how to use lol)- and I want a better flash anyways with a screen on the back but not too expensive. Have heard really good things about these, any input?

You do realize that this ($70, works on any camera brand) YN-560 model is Manual flash mode only? This one has no automatic point&shoot TTL mode.

So you will have to set its proper power level manually yourself, for correct exposure of every picture.

There are other models, like YN-565 (the version of it specifically for Nikon DSLR), not greatly more expensive, that offers both Manual and TTL modes - much more versatile and useful.

Lots of people love manual flash, but many beginners have not learned to handle it.

If there is any question about meaning of manual flash, set your cameras internal flash to be manual mode, and give it a try.

I have a 568, and a 565 I just got. I got the 568 for on camera if I'm outside and need HSS. I got the 565 is good for inside off camera. I love them both. The 568 doesn't have battery pack (doesn't matter much for me) but has HSS, and the 565 has a battery pack but no HSS. I love them both, and they're pretty powerful little flashes for a great price. Little confusing to use at first, but you get the hang of it, and if you have any questions, we're here to help.
