Atalaya Castle, Murrells Inlet, SC
On Huntington Beach State Park lies the remnants of Archer and Anna Huntington's castle. It is now little more than a shell, all the glass is gone from the windows and nothing remains in any of the rooms. It is quite interesting to walk through, however. It was the winter residence of Archer and Anna Huntington, who lived in Connecticut for the remainder of the year. You can read more about him and his wife here:

I shot several images of the Castle the other day with my 1969 vintage FTN, Tri-X and 28mm f/3.5 Nikkor-H and 50mm f/1.4 Nikkor S. That camera and those lenses still stand the test of time, as these images will attest. The negatives were scanned using my Nikon CoolScan 8000 ED scanner.

An outside shot of the castle would be nice to tell more of the story.

Nice. I haven't shot Tri-X in 40 years or so.

Nice images. Have any plans to shoot the place in color?
My In-Laws lived in Wachesaw Plantation for years and visited Huntington Beach State Park frequently. While they were there, any family visit entailed at least one vist to the beach, and a visit to Brookgreen Gardens every so often. My F-I-L was a boat tour guide at Brookgreen for years, up until his health stopped him from doing so. Even so, we never really explored the old residence. Now I wish that we had.
