Being able to check out posts without logging in!!

This is something I noticed after I had been logged out. I was still able to look through all the posts on this site?? Yes I realise that you cant add a post/thread without logging in, but to be able to search the site for information on cameras/lenses and general tips I think should only be accessible to members, then this way we may get more people joining the site which is a good thing. The only reason I am mentioning it is that other sites I am a member of (building/DIY) doesnt allow access without joining, maybe others might disagree but just my opinion

I think if people are able to see what happens here they may wish to join because of it..

See i think when I have needed certain information, I have looked on the internet and not joined the site I got the information from, but have gone back a few times......

It may be beneficial for some sites to have private content, but it wouldn't work with a site like this. Visitors come from search engines, and hopefully join because they see something they like. Those same visitors wouldn't have come to the site if the content was private, because the search engine wouldn't know that content is even there.

I know what your saying, but the DIY site I did join was because I was searching for information and the search engine took me to the site but I couldn't read the replies on each question until I was a member, it was only an idea and not because I don't want people reading stuff on the site just thought it was a way to get more members.
