Getting Ads

There's a new version of MS Edge and now I see advertising. Yes, I paid my bill.

Anyone else getting them?

I'm not seeing any ads with Chrome. I've noticed in the past that I get logged out if I'm inactive for a while then ads appear.

I just tried it using MS Edge and I see ads, but only on the forum main page and with the right sidebar open. No ads in the sub forums.

I'm getting them in the sub-forums also - top right corner.

I'm running Edge Chromium with the extension Ad+ enabled. It's the ONLY way I can view this forum without ads. I quit contributing because it didn't remove the ads and questioning it didn't resolve the issue either. Sorry.

Thanks Fred! I just noticed when Edge reloaded AdBlocker didn't come along with it.

I've been using it since the early beta... and several times during the beta process, as it updated, it boinked a few of the extensions that I use and I'd have to reload/reinstall them.

You probably don't need GHostery. Goto Security settings and select the most strict of the 3 settings in Edge.

Chrome basically gets bogged down as vendors add junk and extensions... MS stripped Chromium and then added in most of the security you need.

I didn't even notice that I was getting ads in the upper right corner until I saw this post and looked. Shows how effective the ads will be on me. :)

I just became a contributor yesterday and I was wondering. I didn't want to whine about it, so I am glad that there is a topic for it! Yes, I was getting ads in the top right corner as well! I am using the latest Firefox browser and had my Adblock plus so that it would allow the ads as a free member. I turned Adblock Plus to block ads, and now they are gone.
