Backgrounds

Well its been pretty quiet on night shift and apart from having plenty of bugs to shoot I have also been experimenting with different backgrounds. As you would have noticed my night time macros tend to be surrounded by back space due to it being dark and the flash firing, well I have come up with an idea by adding in my own backgrounds. This in itself offers other difficulties as I am already holding my camera in one hand and a torch in the other, now I add a background to the equation. Also holding the background at the right spot while focusing and moving with the wind is also challenging, but I must say that I have got some interesting shots from this method and I cannot wait to show them to you guys and gals when I get home.

This kind of thing may be acceptable on the bottom half of the planet, but up topside you can't just drop that kind of a tease and NOT have a photo to show! :dispirited:

Now produce the goods!

Here is kind of what I was talking about.

Fake sky background.

Those pumpkins aren't really in the back ground ;)

These are all taken with a print out of some sort or another which I am holding behind them, if it was not for these they would be totally black like this.

It definitely opens up more options of where you would like to place your subject even while it is still "in the wild" as these were all taken out in the field but with a background held up behind them.
