Funny enough I was looking at our stock on hand in the shop the other day and we have 2 of these. There has been no interest whatsoever in the 9 months I have been working there.
At least with Ferrari there is always a waiting period, in this case the DF is waiting for buyers.I think there's interest, just not at the ridiculous price Nikon is asking. Same with Ferraris
The Amazon price is back to ridiculous as of this morning.
I feel that way about the Leica M, personally. I think the only Nikon camera I get nostalgic about is the Nikon FE.Have you held one, it was flashback to the olden days. The quality was awesome, the sound and controls were a dream and it just felt right till I heard the price. Anyway, I want one but not for the current price.
They really are nice cameras.
I don't see it as a search but as an option. It's not like Nikon changed all their models to look and feel like the Df.In my opinion the Df is a solution in search of a problem; and an ill-conceived solution at that.
I can only assume the eye-popping MSRP was Nikon's ham-fisted attempt to create an air of caché (a la Monte Blanc, Cartier, et al) for this model. Unfortunately high-end electronics don't work well with this strategy. It can be done (e.g. Apple) but it's not an easy combination to pull off.
I think it would make a great 3rd body. I loved that sub-$750 price in the OP! Didn't last long.
Do they drop the price for 24 hours just to get people talking about them again?
I sure took the time to hold one last time I was in a shop. I smiled.
Duh... still recovering from 4 days of putting up and taking down a wedding venue for my eldest nephew. VERY tired! It wasn't a sub $750 price, it was $750 Off of the price. This dropped it down to $1,999.
Very expensive camera you could buy a small car for that............Oz
