I know people that buy cars for toys, so if the Df pleases you and you can afford it without sacrificing something else important to you, then I say why the hell not? The safe (where we keep our money) never follows the Hearst.
What exactly (aside from looks) is there not to like about the camera?
No Video? Really... I mean how many of us would actually use this feature? Just because it's offered does not necessarily mean that you are going to go out of your way to use it. Personally a video camera would make much better use of this than a DSLR.
High ISO?
Same sensor as D4?
You're having fun with it, getting images you like, that's all that matters. Happy daysI'm a hobbyist at best. I can afford to own a dslr and a couple of lenses at any given time. If something new comes in, something old had t be sold to make financial room. I've moved from micro 4/3 to full frame and from a d700 to a df and it's a lot of fun to shoot. And I get some wonderful pictures from it.
A pro or more serious hobbyist may have a different set of needs entirely and this is certainly a niche camera. But it's a lot of fun.

Definately a "Marmite" camera but I love the tactile controls and retro look that draws less attention than a digital DSLR - you can get great quality used versions for a good price.
