Have you checked the Preferences box to make sure it's checked?

The D850 is my 3rd Nikon DSLR over 18 years and Iíve always used a memory card reader and Windows Explorer to transfer files. Am I missing something?

I don't understand why you wouldn't just reformat the card in the camera after you make sure the files are safely stored and readable on your computer. It shouldn't take that long and is probably safer for your card's welfare.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. My question is why transfer works different on 850 and 800e. Thanks for the reformat information I know about it and have been using it. thanks

I have solved my problem with my transfere issue. I came across an article on the web, as regarding the lock button for lens being pressed accidently therefore the lens was not fully locked. I released my lens took it off and returned to camera all is well. my photos are cleared after download to PC as it was on my D800e. many thanks for replys.
