D850 shutter release issue

Has anyone else seen this issue?

a1 is set to "focus"
a2 is set to "focus"
a8 is set to "off" (AF-ON focus activation only mode)
a10 is set to "AF-C"

With these settings Nikon is specific....."Focus: The shutter can only be released when the camera is in focus."

However, If the camera is motionless or relatively steady, the shutter WILL release even if the image is grossly out of focus. Camera can be in S, CL or CH. It doesn't matter, it will still release.

If you are moving and tracking an object it will temporarily pause or refuse to release the shutter until the item you are tracking comes into focus, but it will ALWAYS release the shutter, even if out of focus, when the camera is still.

This makes no sense to me. If I am just confused someone please give me a bit of guidance.

I couldn't even read this. Why would you use those colors for the text? I have no suggestions for you though because offhand, I don't know what a1, a2, a8, or a10 are without having to look them up. Maybe someone else can answer your question.

I could not read it either.
I don't know the d850, but my d7200 gives release priority regardless of the A1 AF-C priority selection IF af-c is set AND back button is set for af-on. I guess they figure you are doing the bbf technique and set you up for it. Some don't like. Most don't notice because they want release priority. Not sure why you are seeing a pause for focusing with moving subjects though, I would have expected it to just release.
