Should I bite the bullet?

Great philosophy. I haven't kept up in the last year, so please excuse my ignorance. Is the 750 being phased out for a newer model?

I've always debated spending the extra cash for a FX camera. I have the philosophy of putting my money first into lenses. I've always been intrigued by a full frame camera though. Is the 750 worth the jump, or should I wait for a better full frame Nikon? Adorama is having a 48 hour sale. It seems like a good deal.
Thanks.

Well there's always going to be something better coming down the pike, since that's simply the nature of technology. That being said, $1500 for a brand new D750 and legit OEM grip is a sweet deal, I can see why you're giving it serious consideration.

I love my D750 because I find it to be a real "Jack of all Trades" sort of camera and I don't really miss shooting my D7100. I mean, I liked shooting DX just fine, but I love, LOVE, LOVE shooting full-frame; maybe because I learned on film and shooting full-frame just feels more like shooting film to me. The cost of really good full-frame glass can be a little difficult to swallow at times, but it's amazing what you can do with just a couple really good lenses.

Just my thought's on the matter... Sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer.

.....
Buy the D750.
Buy it NOW!!!

I have the philosophy of putting my money first into lenses.

When i started with my 5100, I was on an uber-budget and well, lenses were the only things I could scrape together for to improve 5100's capabilities until I squeezed it to it's complete limits and lenses just wouldn't cut the piss-poor ISO ability (exactly the same as your 7000 actually) of 640 or absolutely max 800 after which details would be lost after noise removal. I finally saved up for a 600 and I never looked back since.

Sensor is, IMO, if not more important than glass. Also keep in mind that kit FX glass is miles better than kit DX, so you don't necessarily have to get the latest and greatest when you bump to FX to see a very noticeable IQ improvement.

As long as you have the FX glass to back it up the D750 is a fantastic camera. Don't let anyone tell you that you can use the DX glass with it. It will work a little but the results are less than good.

Thanks, I was curious about that after reading some articles.

I guess my next question to everybody is; Are you happy with the D750 as an everyday FX camera?

I tried using DX glass on my D750 when I first go it and while it did work, technically speaking, I couldn't get full-frame glass on there fast enough. I could use DX mode in a pinch, but it makes for really awkward shooting.

Absolutely.

The better full frame Nikons have already arrived! So why wait? If you're not going to buy the D810 or D850 or D5, then that D750 is a sweet deal! Upgrading turns into an addiction, however, so be ready...
