Dear all.
I live in Argentina and here photography stuff is pretty expensive. Going to NY for vacation is a good opportunity to buy new material at a lesser price.
My photography experience is going pretty well and I'm having my first customers mainly for studio sessions and events. The feedbacks received from them are positive so I'll work hard to get better every time to be hopefully, one day, a full time photographer.
I have a D750 and 35 / 50 / 85 1.8 + 24 2.8 and a D3300. For events I use mainly D750 with 35 and shifting to 24 or 85 when necessary and keep the 50 on the D3300 for some closer shots / candids but I don't really use much the D3300 though.
I was initially thinking to buy a refurbished D610 (1000 USD) to pair with D750 and use the 35 / 85 combo or to buy a used 24-70 tamron and keep the D3300 as back up.
I finally decided to buy none of them (just en extra TTL flash and a foldable beauty dish) and keep working with what a have.
I don't have really so many events to justify so much money spent and for studio work I don't need anything else.
I have various studio works planned (practice) but just an event (wedding) scheduled at the end of August and it will be a civil ceremony in a small room (35mm will work perfectly) formals in a park (85) and a reception in a resto (again 35 or 50).
If necessary I could rent a Sigma 24-70 or 70-200 for 500 Argentinean pesos (a McDonald meal is around 130 to put in perspective, 1 Liter of milk around 20).
I have 2 YN TTL flashes for events and various others lightings and modifiers.
Do you think I took the right decision or could invest in more equipments?
I plan to travel to Japan with my daughter in 2018/2019 and those 1000 USD will be useful.
I'd love to hear your opinion.
BTW I'll be in USA (Pitt) for other 5 days.
Chau!
