Hello,
I recently purchased the D750 kit with the 24-120 f4 lens. So far I have zero complaints and am very happy with the results from this camera.
I recently also purchased a Zeiss Milvus 50mm 1.4 lens, which works incredibly well with the focus conformity marker.
In the back of my mind I'm still debating if I should go with the D810, over the D750 for the extra megapixels, shutter longevity and supposedly better build quality. (I understand that 24mp is more than enough, but since the Zeiss lens is capable of resolving 33mp according Dxomark, I feel it might let get better crops of pictures especiialy since its a fixed lens.)
Would appreciate some long term usage reports from experienced members here of how robust the D750 is in comparison to 'pro' bodies like the D810.
I usually tend to use my cameras for a long time and will probably not upgrade for a few years, so since the price difference is not too significant, I'm wondering if the D810 is better built to last than the D750 or is the D750 just as good?
Also, do you think I would be able to get better resolving power with the 36mp sensor on the Zeiss lens over the D750?
What caught my attention was a post on this forum where a member tore down a D810 for repairs and saw that the front face place and lens mount is on a plastic frame rather than a magnesium alloy frame as I was expecting. This was major turn off, I'm assuming the D750 is the same way.
A note about my usage, I'm not a professional photographer, I shoot here and there and when I travel. The camera is not a bread earner for me, but my current budget does allow me to splurge on the D810 if its worth it.
