This afternoon I took a few photos with my D7100 near the river then transferred them to my computer when I got home. Slot 1 is NEF while slot 2 is jpeg. This is what I saw when looking at large icons in their respective folders:
NEF folder
jpeg folder
Nothing appears out of the ordinary so I decided to edit the NEF flower. Did a little general editing, but the left side is how it came out of the camera:
Hmm...so I opened the jpeg and this is SOOC only resized for the forum:
Okay. That's bizarre especially after looking through the folders again. So I enlarged the folder icons to Extra Large which finally made it show up as this:
But when viewing the icons at a large size, there is info in the flower's file which shows more of the leaf that is cut off here. So two questions...what caused these files to appear this way? Once I transferred the images to my computer, I reformatted both cards in camera so the files are now deleted. Is it a write error? And why on earth are they displaying differently in the jpeg folder when I switch from large icons to extra large? Any ideas?
