D7100 reset SD card

I was out today taking pictures, and when I got home I put the SD card in the computer I was a bit worried, as I seen 2 files instead of the normal 1 file,
After a bit of head scratching I worked out why, file naming had got to 9999, instead of going to 10,000, its gone back to 001,
thought I'd done something wrong at 1st, but all ok.

That is the reason I started renaming my files when I import them through Lightroom. Otherwise you have duplicate file names on some of your photos. I use the date from the photos and the sequence number of the photo from that day. 02-28-16_0001.nef Works for me and you will never have duplicate numbers of photos. Lightroom can be set to do this automatically on each import without you having to do anything extra

Thanks for that info Don, I will set that up in lightroom.
