Sigma 120-400 on D7100 ..Problem?

Just tried a Sigma 120-400 OS DG on a couple of my D7100 ..cannot get a sharp picture ..not back focus ..perfect on D800.

anyone else had problems ..Nikon firmware kicking in ???

I had that lens with my D7000 no fine adj needed then used it for a while on my D7100 still no problem or need for fine tune,could you post a picture from it.
 
very strange fine with 80-400 sig ..never got a sharp picture with the 120-400...BF chart looks like this..think I attached it ok.. Picture with D800 fine and sharp but on the D7100 all furry ..other lenses fine on both D800 and D7100 any ideas .

As everything else is ok combination wise and if you not using a tripod with OSswitched on it sounds like a lens fault,cant remember is there a focus limiter on that lens.
 
I sent it back for a refund ..too much hassle will look for a Nikon.

What do you think of the Nikon 80-400 AF VR D....as a starter lens for birds?
going to the somme estury end may and many paths thro the tidal waste lands?

I had the D version on loan and found it a little slow sometimes to focus and mine was a little soft at the 400mm end,most of the alternatives will be a little soft at the long end but with a max of 400mm you cant wind it back much to improve it.

Well I cured the problem I bought a very cheap second hand Sigma 150-500 and I have no problems ..all sharp and fine. Just a beginner ..may loose interest but I have trip to Somme estury end May ( thats france) ..will supprise the wife with my Bigma.....would you like to carry the camera dear ??? Lots of salt flats with hides to try out though tides not at the best times.
